I studied philosophy at the University of Leuven, Belgium, and visual arts at Rijkscentrum voor Hogere Kunsten in Brussels. I first went to Portugal to study the messianic myth of Sebastianism, but I soon got involved in teaching Dutch and translating between Portuguese and Dutch, which I still do to this day. I’ve translated several Dutch plays , with editing assistance by my late husband , Filipe Ferrer, who was an actor and author. Nowadays I am also active in visual arts , with group and solo exhibitions in Belgium and
Portugal, focusing on layers of texts (mainly Fernando Pessoa).
