Guillermo Briz
Palabras Mayores. He has a Bachelor’s degree in translation from Dutch into Spanish (ITV, Utrecht, The Netherlands). He teaches Spanish at Instituto Cervantes in Utrecht since 2008, and he is about to finish his Master’s in Spanish as a Foreign Language (UIMP, Santander, Spain). The Dutch Foundation for Literature (Letterenfonds) has recognized him as a literary translator from Dutch into Spanish. As a subtitler he has been collaborating for years with the MECAL Short and Animation Film Festival (Barcelona, Spain). He also has a telecommunications engineering degree at Universidade de Vigo (Spain), although this somehow feels as if it belongs to a former life.
