Maruša Fakin was born in 1991 in Ljubljana and now lives and works as a freelance translator in Berlin. She studied Spanish Language and Literature and Comparative Literature and Literary Theory. After finishing her Master’s degree in Hispanic studies, she started working as a fiction and non-fiction translator from Spanish and Portuguese to Slovenian. In 2018 she started collaborating with the Ibero-American Institute in Berlin where she was the curator of the exhibition about Latin American cultural magazines. She is currently working for a publishing house dedicated to personalised children’s books while searching for opportunities in the literary translation world.
