Martina Kutková studied Hebrew studies and Spanish translation at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University. She is currently continuing in her doctoral degree programme in translation studies at the same faculty, focusing on Czech translations from Judeo-Spanish. She has so far translated Spanish short stories by Maria Vargas Llosa and Rita Indiana for the supplement of Literární noviny – Svět knihy (World of Book) and has published other translations in the A2 magazine and on the website of the Prague Writers' Festival. In 2018 she worked for the Leda publishing house as an editor of the book by Antonio Muñoz Molina, Polský jezdec. She also translated for the Mexican Embassy in the Czech Republic. Since 2016 she has been working as a lecturer at the Jewish Museum in Prague.
