Mojca Petaros

Mojca Petaros (1998) grew up in Trieste before moving to Ljubljana, and later to Spain and Luxembourg, for her studies. She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Translation Studies at the University of Ljubljana. She translates from English, Italian and Spanish. In 2025, she won the Radojka Vrančič Prize for Young Translator of the Year for her translation of Camila Sosa Villada's novel Las Malas (Pokvarjenke).

Her short stories have been published in various Slovenian literary magazines. In 2022, she won the Slovenian edition of the International Literary Prize Energheia from Matera, and was also among the finalists of the Slovene Literary Festival for Young Authors Urška. In October 2025 she published her first book, a collection of short stories titled Nočem Več Biti Nevidna (I Don't Want to Be Invisible Anymore).
