Marieke Haenebalcke (b. 1986, BE) reads, writes and translates from Slovenian, French and English. She studied Slavic studies, literature and translation-interpretation in Ghent and Ljubljana. As a certified translator, she also took courses in law and enrolled at Vertalersvakschool to study literary translation. Her translation of the bestseller Beautiful Boy by David Sheff was published in 2018, and her translations of Derrière la haine by Barbara Abel and the collection Our Colonial Inheritance by Wendeline Flores and Wayne Modest (for Wereldmuseum Amsterdam) were published in 2024.
