Lucija Janc Novak (2001) is currently studying an MA in German Studies at the University of Ljubljana. As a part of her studies, she has also been learning Dutch and Swedish. She improved her Dutch skills at summer schools in Ghent, Belgium, and in Debrecen and Budapest, Hungary. In Olomouc, Czech Republic, she took part in an Erasmus+ project called Socialist Transnational Transfer of Dutch-language Literature.

Her first translation experiences stem from a high school project. Later, she participated in several literary translation workshops, where she gained experience translating German plays and prose into Slovenian. Currently, she is also active as a non-fiction translator from German and English into Slovenian, and works as a language tutor. In her free time, she enjoys combining her love of languages and music.
