Joep Harmsen (1993) is a literary translator (Spanish to Dutch) and an editor. He has a double Bachelor's degree in Literary Studies and Spanish Language & Culture and a double Master's degree in Translation Studies and Book Editing & Publishing, all from the University of Amsterdam. Madrid and Mexico City are his two favourite cities in the world, in both capitals he has spent some time during his studies. Joep has translated two books from Spanish to Dutch. The last one, a co-translation with Merijn Verhulst of Jazmina Barrera's essay collection Cuaderno de Faros, will be published in January 2021 at Uitgeverij Karaat. He also works as the copy editor of 360 Magazine, a Dutch news publication that curates and translates international journalism for a Dutch audience.
