Hi, I’m Finne! I fell in love with the Portuguese language and the art of translation during my applied language studies at Artesis Plantijn University College Antwerp and today. I work as a literary translator and barista. In 2015, I was selected for a master course in literary translation at KU Leuven and Utrecht University. In 2018, I received a mentorship for emerging literary translators from the Dutch- Flemish Centre of Expertise for Literary Translation (ELV). In 2021, my first and second translations, both Portuguese young adult novels , were published by the Dutch publisher Querido and several of my translations of Portuguese short stories have been published in literary magazines in Flanders and the Netherlands.
