Born and raised in Galicia in northwestern Spain, Carmen is fascinated by languages , culture and literature. After learning English and French, she 
felt the urge to delve into the unknown waters of Dutch. Since embarking on this journey, Carmen has translated a play, two non-fiction novels and five 
children’s books , as well as published several articles and giving introductory courses to translation. She currently leads a localisation team in Amsterdam, a job she combines with several translation and literature 
projects , such as CELA or Binnenlandse vogels , buitenlandse nesten, a project investigating how Dutch literature migrates and builds nests in international trees.
