Aya Sabi made her debut in 2017 with the short story collection Verkruimeld land (Crumbled Land) which was nominated for the OPZIJ Literature Prize and the LangZullenWeLezen Award. Since then she has written columns and worked on a number of journalism pieces for various media outlets and she also likes to perform on stage. She was selected for the deBuren writers 
residency in 2018 and is currently working on her novel Half leven (Half life), which is published by Das Mag in 2022.
