Zarja Lampret Prešeren studied Translation at the Department of Translation Studies, University of Ljubljana, and spent a semester abroad at the University of Udine.

During her studies, she translated the short story God by Anne Enright as part of an EFACIS project. She also gained work experience in localisation, post-editing, and translating various text types–technical, medical, tourism and promotional texts, newspaper articles, television subtitles, and theatre subtitles–from English and Italian to Slovene and vice versa. She currently works as a subtitling editor.
