Rina Pleteršek (1996) studied Russian Language and Art History at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana. She later moved to Russia, where she earned a degree in Dramatic and Film Acting at Yekaterinburg State Theatre Institute. After returning to Slovenia, she completed her master’s degree in acting at the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television (AGRFT) and started working as a freelance actor.
Throughout her career, she has also written and edited for several literary magazines, including Zamenjave, Artfix, and Koridor – križišča umetnosti, and worked as a journalist for Radio Študent. Although not formally trained as a translator, she finds joy in translation work, seeing parallels with her acting career–conveying a story to a new audience in the best possible way. She translates from Ukrainian, Russian, and Belarussian.
