Petra Janků (1997) is currently pursuing a master's degree in Slavonic Studies, as well as a second master's degree in Czech as a Foreign Language, both at Masaryk University in Brno. She has also completed two bachelor's degrees: Czech Philology with a specialisation in Editorial Work at Palacký University in Olomouc, and South Slavonic and Balkan Studies with a specialisation in Slovenian language at Masaryk University in Brno. Petra’s passion for languages extends beyond academia; she teaches Czech to both foreign and native students, works as a proofreader, and occasionally delves into the world of marketing. Her journey into translation began with a selection of poems by Slovenian poet Zala Marolt, which was published in the Czech literary journal Tvar. Petra views this as the starting point of her translation career, as she aspires to introduce Czech readers to the richness of Slovenian literature.
