Pete Wu (1985) is a writer and journalist who studied English Literature and Literary Journalism. His non-fiction debut, De bananengeneratie: over het dubbelleven van Chinese Nederlanders (2019, Das Mag), was nominated for the Brusseprijs for the best journalistic book. The book was also adapted for theatre by Theater Oostpool (2022–2024) and turned into a documentary series called Pete en de Bananen (2020, VPRO). Pete was a columnist for De Volkskrant and toured in The Netherlands and Belgium with a performance as ambassador for the Week van het Nederlands (Week of the Dutch Language). Pete is currently working on a novel, a movie scenario, and a short story collection based on the fairytales his mother used to tell him.
