Olena Pshenychna (1985) is a writer from the Kyiv oblast. She graduated from the Institute of Journalism at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in 2007, and in 2025 completed the master’s programme in management of non-profit organizations at the Ukrainian Catholic University.
She worked in television for nearly 20 years, including as a reporter, editor, editor-in-chief, and creative producer. From 2024, she served as Director of Communications and Arts Advocacy at Voices of Children. She is currently a co-founder of the NGO Видимі (Visible), which focuses on raising awareness of autism and supporting families of children with autism spectrum disorder. As an author, she collaborates with The Ukrainians media outlet.
In 2024, her debut novel Там, де заходить сонце (Where the Sun Sets) was published and included on PEN’s list of the best books of 2024. For this novel, Olena received the Oles Honchar Literary Prize.
