
Oleksandra Laktionova (1989) is a Ukrainian translator born in Kherson, Ukraine. In 2012, she graduated from the Kyiv National Linguistic University, Faculty of Romance Philology, and went on to work as an interpreter for various international projects and events in Ukraine, including EURO 2012, the UEFA Champions League Final, and the New Safe Confinement project at Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
Oleksandra made her literary translation debut as a co-author of the Ukrainian edition of Jorge Luis Borges’s essays Otras Inquisiciones, and the collection of short stories Bestiario by Julio Cortázar. She later worked independently, translating Horacio Vazquéz-Rial’s biography of the Argentinian president, Perón: tal vez historia.
Before Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Oleksandra lived and worked in her hometown. She now resides in Somerset, England, where she continues her translation work.
