Nevena Mitropolitska

Nevena Mitropolitska is a librarian аnd the author of three novels published in Bulgaria: Anna and the Mountain (2015), The Gift (2019), and Along the Tracks (2021). She holds degrees in Russian and English literature from Sofia University and Library and Information Science from the Université de Montréal. Born and raised in Bulgaria, she has lived in Canada since 2022. Having resided in Bulgaria, Russia and Canada, Nevena is interested in issues such as immigration and intercultural relations–topics that frequently appear in her works. In 2022, Along the Tracks received the Peroto National Award for Contemporary Bulgarian Fiction and was nominated for the National Readers’ Helikon Award. Chapters from her books have been published in the Polish literary magazine Fraza (April 2023) and the blog of the journal Asymptote, dedicated to translations of world literature (August 2024).
