Mojca Petaros (1998) is a Slovene from Italy. She grew up in Trieste before moving to Ljubljana, and later to Spain and Luxembourg, for her studies. She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Translation Studies at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana. Her working languages are English, Italian and Spanish.
In July 2024 her first literary translation, Las Malas by Camila Sosa Villada, was published by Mladinska Knjiga Publishing House, and she is currently translating her second novel for the same publisher. Besides translating, Mojca also writes short stories, which have been published in various Slovene literary magazines. She enjoys taking part in literary competitions, and in 2022 she won the Slovenian edition of the International Literary Prize Energheia from Matera, and was also among the finalists of the Slovene Literary Festival for Young Authors Urška 2022. She lives in Trieste and is working on her first collection of short stories.
