Mirela Belada (1984) was born in Serbia and holds an MA in Romanian Language and Literature from the Faculty of Philology at the University of Belgrade. Since 2007, she has worked as a librarian in the Romanian Department at the same faculty, while also pursuing a career as a freelance translator. Since 2020, she has been enrolled in a PhD programme in Romanian Language, combining her doctoral studies with research and translation.

She has been awarded five scholarships from the Romanian Ministry of Education and the Romanian Cultural Institute, attending summer courses on language, culture, civilisation, and translation. She has translated several works from Romanian into Serbian, including Îngeri deghizați and Simfonia balcanică by Ioan Cărmăzan, two children’s books by Alex Donovici (Țup. Imposibil e doar un cuvânt and Țup. Salvatoarea iernii), and a philosophical fragment on Romanian existentialism and European metaphysics by Eugen Simion.
