
Matilde Soliani holds a bachelor’s degree in Interlinguistic Applied Communication from the University of Trieste and KU Leuven, as well as a European master’s degree in Conference Interpreting from the University of Trieste. She is currently pursuing a double doctoral degree in Literary, Linguistic, and Comparative Studies at the University of Naples L’Orientale and in Translation Studies at KU Leuven, focusing on the representation of cities in Belgian media.
As a freelance translator and interpreter, her working languages include Italian, Dutch, French, English, and German. She has translated the short story Ze noemden mij Miep by Dirk Vruggink (2020, Ef & Ef) together with Marco Prandoni, and participated in a development project by the Expertisecentrum Literair Vertalen. As part of this project, she began translating Jaguarman by Raoul de Jong (2020, De Bezige Bij) under the supervision of Franco Paris. In 2024, she took part in the first edition of the Translators’ Week organised by Literatuur Vlaanderen.
