Martino Gandi (1998) studied English and Spanish Language and Literature at the University of Pavia before studying Literary Translation at the Civica Scuola per Interpreti e Traduttori “Altiero Spinelli” of Milan. He has translated short stories both from English and Spanish for literary magazines, including works by Sheila Heti or Jorge Fernández Era, as well as a political essay on Chile featuring interviews with the ministers of Gabriel Boric’s government and the President himself, published by Fondazione Feltrinelli.

Martino has worked as an editorial reader for an Italian publishing house, evaluating both fiction and non-fiction manuscripts. Today he teaches Spanish to high school students and works at a reception centre for asylum seekers. Always seeking new opportunities to improve his translation skills, he is finding his way in the literary translation field to bring the books he loves to Italian readers.
