Marius Chivu

Marius Chivu (b. 1978) is a writer, translator, literary reviewer and radio host. He made his debut in 2012 with the poetry book Vântureasa de plastic (Union of Romanian Writers Debut Prize and Observator cultural magazine Debut Prize), translated into French in 2015. He has also published three travel books Three Weeks in the Atlas (2023), Three Weeks in the Andes (2016) and Three Weeks in the Himalayas (2012) and the short story collection End of Season (2014). He is the editor of anthologies Best of: Short Prose of the 2000s (2013) and The 111 most beautiful love poems of Romanian literature (2015) and several others. He translated from the work of Richard Ford, Paul Bailey, Tim Burton and Oscar Wilde and he teaches creative writing classes. Since 2020 he is the editor of KIWI, an annual short stories anthology that features both Romanian and foreign authors. Since 2015 he is the host of a weekly literary radio show called “All You Can Read” for UrbansSunsets.com, an online radio station. His poetry, prose and critical essays regarding romanian contemporary literature were translated into English, Swedish, French, Spanish, Chech, and Italian. He recently published in Freeman’s: The Future of New Writing (John Freeman editor) the American, UK, Swedish, Australian and Italian editions.
