Mariana Torres (1981) was born in Angra dos Reis, Brazil. She has taught Creative Writing since 2004. At Escuela de Escritores she is in charge of the Department of Teachers Training. As a writer she has published in several anthologies and won prizes. She published her first book, The secret body, in 2015 (Páginas de Espuma). She is selected by Hay Festival to be part in Bogotá39-2017: a selection of the best fiction writers under 40 from across Latin America.
