Małgosia Briefjes (b. 1979, NL) grew up in two cultures, surrounded by books. She studied visual arts and Slavic studies, and took a Polish literary translation course at Vertalersvakschool. In 2023, her translation of Aleksander Fredro’s fables was awarded first prize at the Polish ambassador’s translation contest. In 2024 she received a development grant from Expertisecentrum Literair Vertalen for the translation of Cudzoziemka by Maria Kuncewiczowa.
