Kike Cherta

Kike Cherta was born in a small town on the Valencian coast. He is a creative writing teacher, coordinates book clubs, and has an extensive career in advertising.

Cherta has won half a dozen literary awards, including the Francisco Ayala Narrative Prize, which led to the publication of his short story collection La bofetada de Gilda (Musa a las 9, 2014). He was one of the founders of the web project Cuentos como churros, which garnered thousands of readers and resulted in two compilations: Cuentos como churros (Pez Sapo, 2015) and El fúsil y otros cuentos (Fritanga, 2017).

His debut novel, Los Miralles (Navona Editorial) was published in September 2023. Cherta was selected as one of the five best debuts of the year by the newspaper El Mundo and the novel was a finalist for the prestigious Cálamo Prize Best Book 2023. The third edition of Los Miralles is about to be published.
