Jitka Hanušová (1982) is a translator from Finnish, editor, writer, and photographer. She holds an MA in Czech Studies from Palacký University Olomouc and Finnish Studies from Charles University in Prague. She translates Finnish prose, comics, and poetry, working with a range of publishers and literary magazines.
Over the years, she has gained extensive experience in cultural management, cultural journalism, and PR. From 2016 to 2024, she worked as Literary Editor at Albatros Media publishing house, focusing primarily on Nordic literature, where her responsibilities included project management, licensing, and copywriting.
She collaborates closely with the Czech Literary Centre and the international CELA project (Connecting Emerging Literary Artists) and FWD serving as a Literary Consultant and leading specialized masterclasses for translators.
She is also part of the Book World Prague team, coordinating the international platform Central and Eastern European Book Market (CEEBM) for publishers and agents.
She is a member of the professional associations Překladatelé Severu (Translators of the North) and Obec překladatelů (the Union of Translators).
Since 2022, she has produced the monthly podcast "Krotitelé slov" – interviews with translators.
