Jelena was born in Belgrade. She is a translator of Slovenian literature and a teacher of Serbian language and literature. She graduated from the University of Belgrade with a degree in Serbian Language and Literature. Jelena specialised in Serbian Medieval Literature during her postgraduate studies (pre-Bologna master’s degree) at the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade. She currently works as a literature teacher, proofreader, and editor of Serbian language. Her published translations include works by Robert Simonišek (Kar dopuščajo čuti, Selitve), Boris A. Novak (Mala osebna mitologija), and Rok Vičnik (Sirup sreče in druge drame).
