Gijs Wilbrink is a Dutch writer and punk singer. His debut novel De beesten (The Animals, 2022) received widespread acclaim, was translated into German, Spanish, and Macedonian, and was nominated for seven major literary prizes, winning two of them. The novel is a country noir set in the rural Netherlands near the German border and explores themes of family, activism, animal abuse, art, punk, and motocross.

With his bands Tenement Kids and Zero Zero Zero, Gijs has toured throughout Europe.
