Anna Kostková studied Italian Studies in combination with Dutch Language and Literature at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague, where she also completed a master’s degree in Dutch Language and Literature. Her deep passion for languages began with Italian, her first linguistic love, which inspired her to pursue translation. She has translated three historical novels from Italian into Czech, including works by Valery Esperian and Massimo Polidoro. During her studies, she also participated in student translation projects involving texts in the Dutch language. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies with a specialisation in Turkish language. While she is currently based in Prague, Anna divides her life between the Czech Republic, Turkey, and Italy. She hopes to expand her work to include Turkish literature in the future, while continuing to focus on Italian, the cornerstone of her translation journey.
