Alma Mathijsen

Alma Mathijsen (1984) has written four novels , a novella , a collection of stories, two essay collections, and six plays. She has written several essays for Dutch national newspaper NRC Handelsblad and columns for LINDA magazine. In 2011 she debuted with the novel Alles is Carmen, followed by De grote goede dingen (2014) and Vergeet de meisjes (2017), the latter 
reaching the shortlist for the 2017 BNG Bank Literary Prize. Her latest novel, Bewaar de zomer (2020), a raw exploration of love and loss , was very highly acclaimed and Alma is currently working on her next novel.
