Alina Irimia (1981) graduated in Croatian and French philology and studied also Slovenian language at the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures, University of Bucharest. Currently she works as a freelance literary and court translator and interpreter for Slovenian language. She translated from Slovene to Romanian Goran Vojnović's novel Čefurji raus! and Gabriela Babnik's novel Sušna doba (Dry season). She also translated theatre plays, essays, documentary films and literary fragments from several Slovenian writers and poets. Starting from October 2017 she is a PhD student at the Doctoral School of Literary and Cultural Studies, the University of Bucharest, with the thesis Postmodernism in Slovenian prose, thus she continues research and translations from Slovenian literature.
