Aleš Belšak (2001) is a MA student of Slovene and Czech Language & Literature at the University of Ljubljana, where he received his BA in 2024. He is currently the head language editor and occasionally works as a journalist at Europe’s oldest independent radio station, Radio Študent, in his native Ljubljana. In 2018 and 2019, he was part of the wider programming team of the Festival of Socially-engaged Writing Itn.

His first endeavour translating from Czech was for the Slavistics students’ publication Perun, and since 2022 he has been part of a group project translating and analysing the correspondence of Alice G. Masaryková and Jože Plečnik.
