The Passa Porta Festival will be back in Brussels from 28 to 30 March 2025 for its tenth ‘GHOSTS’ edition.
For its 10th edition, the Passa Porta Festival once again takes us on a wonderful voyage of discovery into contemporary literature, driven by an inspiring theme: GHOSTS. Each new book conjures up the ghosts of past writers, while casting its shadow into the future. Writers never die. From 28 to 30 March, they will conspire with ghosts to turn Brussels into a great literary hall of mirrors. Authors, musicians, artists, and actors will explore the different aspects of this theme and confront the ghost worlds of family, love, and politics. Writers will poke holes in time and space, debate the shadowy sides of history, and reflect on apocalyptic visions of the future.

Are your bookshelves overflowing with writers from ‘mainstream languages’ such as English and French? Thanks to CELA, a European project that connects authors, translators and literary professionals from eleven countries and offers new opportunities, you can discover a new generation of writers from language areas that deserve many more readers.
The Romanian Iulian Bocai, the Polish Marta Hermanowicz and the Ukrainian Myroslav Laiuk will share the stage with their Dutch and Flemish translators Małgosia Briefjes, Charlotte van Rooden and Roman Nesterenco. They will read excerpts in Dutch and in the original languages and talk about their work and the importance of translation and about current events in Eastern Europe. Hosted by Nicky Aerts.
